What is Dove ?
I wanted to share more about Dove before we get into the review because not only I love their products but I also love what the brand stand for and I love supporting businesses that stand for big causes.
Dove was established in 1957 in the US and it’s one of the brands that are highly recommended by dermatologist but that’s not the reason why I fell in love with this brand, I fell for their mission which is redefining beauty standards, by boosting self confidence and increase body positivity around the world. I have been following DOVE for a while on social media and I love that they are transparent, confident, and inspiring. Their social media challenges are more about being confident in who you are and fight unrealistic standards and m here for it.
This is like a simple background to this brand and I love when a brand is not just brand but it’s a tool that brings positivity to the world. So let’s get to the review.
1. PACKAGING
We are starting with the packaging this body lotion comes in a white 400 ml bottle I believe it has also a small size that you can travel with. I love the bottle it gives classy and luxurious vibe which I love. For the packaging it’s a 10/10 it gives what it supposed to give.
On the package you find basic information about the product where it is made and the extra point for this one is that you can recycle it which is good for the environment.
2. THE INGREDIENT
This product is made of coconut oil and Almond milk, coconut oil is known for reducing inflammation, keeping skin moisturized and also it has antimicrobial properties that can help treat acne and protect the skin from harmful bacteria.
The almond milk is known as a great ingredient in preventing early ageing. It is rich in antioxidants such as vitamin c, helps the skin to reduce early signs of ageing while improving and healing other skin problems like discoloration, dryness, hyperpigmentation and dullness. Source: Femina
Other ingredients are made of Aqua, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dimethicone, Glycol Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, 1, 2-Hexanediol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Carbomer, Cetyl Alcohol, Cocos Nucifera Oil, Cyclopentasiloxane, Decylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Glyceryl Stearate, Helianthus Annuss Seed oil, Isomerized Linoleic Acid, Methylparaben, Parfum, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Pentylene Glycol, Petrolatum, Phenoxyethanol, PotassiumSorbate, Propylene Glycol, Propylparaben, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Prunis Amygdalus Dulcis Seed Extract, Sine Adipe Lac, Stearamide AMP, Tocopheryl Acetate, Trideceth-9, Triethanolamine, Coumarin, CI 77891.
3. EFFECTIVENESS
This body lotion is made for all skin types and I must say I am impressed . It is very moisturizing and creamy , when applying it you feel it getting into the skin and I love that it stays on the whole day, you don’t have to reapply it during the day.
After the application it leaves your skin, smooth , hydrated and moisturized.
The good part is that it doesn’t leave your skin oily so if you have an oily skin you can also use this product as i said in the previous paragraph it does work for all skin types even for people with super dry skin this can work for you.
PRO TIP : One thing I learned recently is that if you want to deeply moisturize and hydrate your skin you have to apply a good amount of body lotion. Don’t use 2 drops for your whole body make sure you use a great amount for the best results.
Let’s talk about the fragrance, this body lotion smells so nice, it has that coconut fragrance and the good thing about it is that you can still apply your perfume it doesn’t overpower other perfumes so yes you can apply this and still wear your perfume.
For the effectiveness I give it a 10/10, it does the job and last longer you can use this bottle for more than one month and very affordable it is around $6-$7 love this soo much.
Would I recommend This ?
Definitely yes , this among the best body lotion I have used so far after the Vitarich Johnson body lotion, I really love it I am on my second bottle and m planning to keep using it unless if I discover another brand that does a better job but so far so good I love it.
It is not expensive and it does the job if you are looking for a more affordable product that also do an amazing job you can try the Johnson body lotion that I also reviewed here.
