6 Essential makeup brushes for beginners.

If you are starting out in the makeup world today i am sharing 6 essential makeup brushes you need to have in your makeup set.

You may have seen professional MUA with tons of brushes and products and wondered their role.

Well makeup brushes play a big role in a having an epic and fabulous makeup look.

Today on the blog i am going to talk about those must have makeup brushes, their roles and how to use them.

1. BEAUTY BLENDER AND FOUNDATION BRUSH

We are going to start with the beginning.

When starting your makeup routine you start with applying a primer which is like a base for your foundation.

Here i shared 3-reasons-why-you-should-use-a-primer/ , this a major step that you can’t jump.

After priming the next step is foundation. When applying your foundation you can use either a foundation brush or a beauty blender.

There is a lot of debate about either using a blender or a brush, some use both or one of them. Here is some points you need to know about both of them.

BEAUTY BLENDER : it allows your foundation to be pressed into your skin and it give a more natural and flawless finish look.

It blends perfectly your foundation, doesn’t leave streaks and allows you to use less product.

You use it by using a tapping motion in order to allow the foundation to be pressed in your skin.

FOUNDATION BRUSH: this works best for people that prefer powder to liquid foundation. It gives an airbrushed finish look and may show blend lines.

I personally use beauty blender and i suggest you get yourself one,make sure to clean it after every use or as often as you can.

You can also use the foundation brush first and blend with the beauty blender.

2. POWDER BRUSH

The second essential makeup brush to have is a powder brush which is used to apply your setting powder ( either loose or pressed powder).

It can also be applied to remove excess product on the face and ensure a flawless look.

Powder brush are designed such that it perfectly blends the setting powder and gives a more natural look.

3. CONCEALER BRUSH

Concealer is used to cover black under eyes, neutralize blemishes and it is a must have product.

A concealer brush is used to apply your concealer, there are different types of concealer brushes depending on where and type of concealer being used.

If it is for small blemishes you can use a small concealer brush, for large space like an under eye coverage you use large brushes.

You can use your fingers to blend your concealer but there are products that requires a brush.

4. HIGHLIGHTER BRUSH

Another important brush you must have is a highlighter brush to apply your highlighter.

Depending on the type of highlighter you are using there different types of highlighter brushes.

You can either use a fan brush for a powder highlighter and a stippling brush for a liquid highlighter. I prefer the fan brush.

An angled brushes can also be used to apply the highlighter but they are mostly used for contouring.

5. EYEBROW BRUSHES

This brush is used to shape your eyebrows and i can’t live without this one.
There are different type of eyebrow brushes and i summed up some that i think you need as a beginner.

BROW AND LASH BRUSH

This brush is used to groom your brush before applying brow pencil. It can also be used for lashes.

DOUBLE ENDED BROW BRUSH

This double ended brow brush has skinny tip which is used to fill in your brows and an angled end to add extract color and dimension.

6. EYE SHADOW BRUSH

The last must have makeup brush is an eye shadow brush.

There are tons of eye shadow brushes depending on where you are applying your eye shadow.

EYE SHADOW STAMP BRUSH

This brush is used to pick a lot of product and apply it on your eyelids. When you want to have that intense color on your eyelids this is a must go to.

MEDIUM EYE SHADOW BRUSH

It applies medium quantity to your eyelids and it is suitable for newbies in the game.

EYE BLENDER BRUSH

It is used to blend your eye shadow.

EYE CONTOUR BRUSH

It is used to contour the edges of the eyes due to it’s angled features.

CUT CREASE BRUSH

If you watch a lot of makeup tutorials you know that this brush is mostly used and it is a must have.

WING EYELINER BRUSH

This one is used to draw a wing on your eyes and it is a must have.

That is the first and must have eye shadow brushes, well well this is all the brushes you should have as a beginner.
